What can say – I’ve been out of the country on vacation and I’ve lost track of the days of the week. And I’ve been busy. You know how it is – you come back from vacation and WHAM – you are up to your ears in “it”. All kinds of “it”.
There are big doings in the 21stCentury Household – big doings! Very exciting stuff but I am awaiting some photos before I reveal what they are – stay tuned.
I know you are waiting for more news of my trip to Peru. The most news I have right now is that after traveling for 26 hours to get home I got sick. I hab a code in mah het. I feel like crap. I ran the 3 worst miles of my life last night. Here I hoped that trekking up the stairs of Inca ruins
and
climbing mountains at altitude
would be sufficient training for my 1/2 marathon on Sunday. HA! I can hardly breath.
that sign says Waynapicchu 2634 m (8642 ft)
I will probably walk this thing with a little jogging in between unless my lungs miraculously clear up. To be honest, I’m in it for the bling so I don’t really care. Sort of. If I were feeling well and were trained I’d like to do it in 2:15 but as it is I don’t think so. Oh well. That’s not as bad as my friend Juls from Keeping Pace who was hoping to smoke this thin in preparation for the CIM where she is attempting a BQ, or was attempting a BQ – until she tore a tendon or something. Bummer Juls. We’ll just have to keep each other company.
In other news – Peruvian misquito bites itch just as much as Norte Americano bites. Bottled water in Peru is not clear, crips spring water – it is distilled, purified bad water with some salts tossed in and it tastes tedious and flat, altitude sickness is awful. More later.
Ack! Hope you get well soon, don’t be coughing for 3 weeks like I was!!
I can’t wait to hear more..and your news. Looking forward to the meet up.
Welcome back! Are you going to run a half marathon after such vacation? You are really strong. Can’t wait to see more pictures and to know more details of the trip.
Take it easy tomorrow. Stupid planes! I always get sick after long plane trips. I hope you can get near your goal time, but hey, when it comes down to it, we’re all in it for the bling.:)
Ugh! But hey! We’re cold buddies! I got mine from Los Enfants Horribles, which is not NEARLY as sexy as getting sick on the way home from Peru.Go relax until the cold gets so bored it leaves. That’s my strategy…
I’m glad you arrived home safe and sound. And what an awesome opportunity, to visit Machu Picchu. Too bad about the cold. One person I know downs large doses of Emergen C to fight it. Good luck to you and Juls tomorrow.
